Frequently asked questions
What canopy-leg shapes does TentGrip fit?
TentGrip works with round, square, hexagonal, octagonal, and other canopy-leg shapes that fall within the listed size range.
Most current TentGrip products fit canopy legs measuring approximately 1 inch to 1-7/16 inches, or 25 mm to 37 mm, across the widest outside point.
Always check the individual product description before ordering.
How do I measure my canopy leg?
Measure across the widest outside point of the canopy leg.
For square legs, measure straight across one side. For round, hexagonal, or octagonal legs, measure across the widest part of the tube.
Do not measure the circumference.
Contact Focused3D with a photograph and measurement if you are unsure.
What are the magnetic fit shims?
Current TentGrip products include interchangeable 3 mm, 5 mm, and 7 mm magnetic shims.
The shims attach using magnets and locating pins. They reduce the opening inside the mount so it can fit different canopy-leg sizes securely.
Start by checking the mount without a shim, then add the appropriate shim as needed.
What if my canopy leg is outside the listed size range?
Contact Focused3D with a clear photograph, the shape of the canopy leg, and its widest outside measurement.
Custom TentGrip sizes may be available depending on the application.
Will TentGrip fit every canopy from a particular brand?
Canopy dimensions can vary between models and production years, even within the same brand.
Compatibility is determined by the actual shape and outside measurement of your canopy leg rather than the brand name alone.
Do TentGrip products require drilling?
No. TentGrip products clamp onto the canopy frame without drilling holes or permanently modifying the canopy.
Can TentGrip be used to anchor my canopy?
No. TentGrip accessories are not designed to secure a canopy, attach sandbags, replace canopy weights, or act as structural or safety equipment.
Always secure your canopy according to the canopy manufacturer’s instructions and event requirements.
Should I remove TentGrip accessories during bad weather?
Yes. Remove signs, hanging items, drinks, phones, and other accessories during severe weather or high winds.
Follow the canopy manufacturer’s instructions for weather, accessories, and safe operation.
What material are TentGrip products made from?
Current TentGrip mounts are manufactured from durable glass-fiber-reinforced PETG.
Normal 3D-printing characteristics such as layer lines, seams, and minor surface variations may be visible and do not usually affect product function.
Are TentGrip products made in the United States?
TentGrip products are designed and manufactured in Michigan by Focused3D.
